Suzy Walker

Hi, I’m Suzy Mum of 4 girls Nana to my 1 year old grandson and also Mum to a few furry friends too!

I have absolutely love my work whether it be children, adults or animals they all give different rewards and inspire me every day to learn more, help more and I hope that they get something back from me too!

Staring as a Childminder in 2005 I have always enjoyed children and I used to babysit regularly when I was a teenager for various families and once, I had 4 of my own I knew the best thing for me to do was be at home for my girls, over the years my husband joined me after being made redundant with Royal Mail and we continued and that how little Walkers was named! We provided emergency care for children to working with social services and Bucks County council to provide respite and emergency care for families. Once my children were older, I thought I wanted to go back out to work and do something new although I knew it would be care related which is when I started in Community care at the local NHS Hospital I still continued babysitting and childminding on a part time basis.

Eventually in 2016 we opened our first before and after School club in little Chalfont providing wrap around care for all local schools after much persuasion from local parents! This was a great success and a much needed service, the following year I went back to University to study Nursing and qualified in 2019 as a Nursing Associate working still in the Community Nursing and Rehabilitation. We opened our second BASC in Chalfont St Giles in 2018 and then our children’s play Café IN 2019 sadly when Covid hit the Café was unable to continue as we decided to save the BASC instead. Last year I moved into Cancer care for a short time help setting up a new service for people living with Cancer which was rewarding and gave me I great knowledge of Cancer, treatments, and a good understanding of how patients feel before and after diagnosis and treatment or surgery.

Michael Walker

I’m Michael father and husband to the Walker girls! I also too have a passion for care working now mainly with children in a local school and at our wrap around service in Little Chalfont.

Previously I worked for Royal Mail and in catering then moved to Childminding with Suzy in 2012 in this time I have completed my level 3 in Play work and all relevant training for both my roles.

I have also for the last 3.6 years provided companionship for the elderly and take them to appointments and shopping if required in the future I am hoping to do more of this.

Haylie Walker

Hello! My name is Haylie, I am the second eldest of the Walker sisters.

I am currently studying at the Open university with the goal of becoming a child Psychologist. I am currently working in a local infant School and for our wrap around childcare service at the same school I love both my roles as they are varied and rewarding! I have been brought up in a Childcare environment from a young age as my mum and then my dad were Childminders this is when I realised this was what I wanted to do as I enjoy taking care of others this has now also expanded to love of animals and giving companionship for older people too!

My name is Jayde, I am the eldest of the Walker sisters, I have a son and another baby due next year. I am currently studying my level 3 in early years and then train to be a pre-school, Teacher. Growing up I had 3 younger sisters as well as the child-minded children, we had many pets over the years to Cats, Rabbits, guinea Pigs, Hamsters fish and Dogs, I soon realised that I enjoy care work, watching children learn and grow as well as having a loyal pet and the care they also need. Over the last few years with my Mum moving into adult care and Nursing I have often been to visit with my son to some of Mums clients who used to work with or adore children this has given them something to look forward to and has given my son the chance to engage with the older generation!

Hi my name is Shannon Walker and I have been babysitting for the last 5 years. I currently work for Little Walkers and regularly babysit many of the children during the week and weekends. I also work for SuperCamps as an activity instructor and early years practitioner. I have lots of experience with different ages as my parents have been working with children since I was 4 years old. I really enjoy working with children and hope I can help whenever you need.
